traditions and blessings.

‘Tis the day for gratitude.  Facebook statuses and blog posts are filled with Thanksgiving wishes…text messages and phone calls are rolling in with sweet words of love….and so I join in with my own thoughts…

Thanksgiving is a day of tradition and blessings…the Macy’s Day parade is on TV…the turkey is roasting in the oven, the stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, marshmallow topped sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce will be prepared…the newspaper ads are strewn throughout the living room…scattergories is ready to be played…an afternoon walk, followed by a lazy nap await…

And this year…two new traditions started in my house…

…my sweet girlie helped clean out the turkey last night and showed some interest in learning about the meal prep…

…and my niece that shares a love of baking, sent text pics to me of her pumpkin bundt baking adventure…

…and so the next generation begins to carry on traditions and create new ones.

May your Thanksgiving Day be filled with family and friends, traditions-old and new, and overflowing gratitude for all of God’s blessings.
