Before a flight departure, we are always given the following order…“If you are traveling with a child or someone who requires assistance, secure your mask on first, and then assist the other person.”
It makes sense…we must secure our own safety and well being before we begin to assist others…or else we would be of NO use to anyone, without that oxygen mask giving us life.
So…in the real world, there are days when we give, give and give…and we forget to stop and breathe. So as I am now reflecting, (after having snapped from a literal lack of oxygen) allow me to remind you…to take the time to secure your mask. Be aware of what you need…and then take the time to care for yourself.
Tomorrow, I will be treating myself to a pedicure…and some leisure reading…and dinner with friends. And I will be breathing again.
