slow down…savor…be present

This has been a weekend of being present…an early summer night with friends on a roof-top in the city…walking/talking amongst family and friends to raise $ and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis…cuddling on a couch over a school yearbook with my niece and nephew…texing my sis (sitting two seats away) during her daughter’s dance recital…dinner at a truck stop during a day of driving with my sweet hubby…a rainy afternoon nap…burgers, a game of “Super Dozen!” and bonfire conversations with some of my favorite teens.

Life seems to be so full..and we Americans seem to think we must be “busy AND productive.” Nope. There needs to be time to simply be present…to enjoy the little things…to be aware of the beauty around us. If we don’t take the time to slow down, we just might miss the things that REALLY matter.
