The day began with a group of my fav moms gathered at a local coffee shop, discussing thoughts about an old testament tale, and sharing insights on a wide array of topics, as we are all determined to be living life with a positive perspective, even when life deals a difficult hand at times. We are real and open, challenging each other to be our best…and giggling along the way. 🙂
And the night ended with pals down the street. These are a group of friends that have been living life alongside me and my fam since we arrived in this city, and this church fifteen years ago. Our kids have grown up together, and we have shared some of our deepest conversations with these families over the years. The high school boys beat the dads in basketball tonight…the three girls (one in elementary…one in middle school…and my college girl) share a special bond that is near to sisterhood…and the eight adults enjoyed sharing stories around the bonfire.
So on this Easter Eve, I am truly thankful for the gift of life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life…” John 3:16 is so much more than a Sunday school memory verse…or a banner in the endzone of a football stadium….He truly loved us so much that he sent his son…for us! So we can have life. And in John 11:25, Jesus stated “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” I have a life..because of him. I have blessings and great friends…because of him. I am…because of him.
